Fixing Up a 66

Charles Hines of Colorado City, Texas shares with us a very informative description about what it took to get his Father's All-Crop 66-B in working condition. This is Part I of his project in his own words. Nice job Charles!

Here is the separator after cleaning out most of the rats nest.  It was packed in solid up to the straw walker.

Rat urine is very corrosive and rusted out some holes in the separator floor and grain drag chains.

Here is the concave after I removed the cylinder.  The concave is rusted and the concave bars need replacing.  The shelling plate rubber is wore out too.

This is the boot where the tailing come back to the cylinder.  I had meant to put some new rubber liner there, but I was in a hurry putting everything back together and never got around to it.  Most of the other old combines I've seen are corroded at that boot, so I think it definitely needs that liner there.

This is the shelling plate.  The original rubber strip was about 1/8" thick.
